Examples of recent projects:

United States Postal Service

HWS Inc. developed USPS's first extranet. The applications allow their vendors to download solicitations and to register on-line to provide services to the USPS. The USPS staff use our Oracle database/Web applications to post new solicitations and search for vendors that offer the required service. Using Oracle database replication and Raptor Firewall technology, these applications run both on the public Web and over the USPS intranet where security is first priority. Over 5000 separate vendors have registered. The applications allow vendors immediate download access to documents/drawings which define USPS requirements. It also provides USPS personnel searchable access to appropriate vendors generating greater competition amoung vendors.

HWS Inc. is presently developing a JSP/Java/XML application to track the qualifications of their contractors for multi-million dollar construction projects.

Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy

HWS Inc. developed the FSBPT Web site, extranet, and members-only virtual private network. Their extranet is secured using a Checkpoint firewall server, cybercash automated credit-card processing, customized routines, and SSL encryption. The Extranet and Virtual Private Network are fully database enabled and interactive with standard workflow including automatic emailed and faxed reports orginating from the extranet web server. Our web application has generated and tracked well over $2,000,000 in revenue and over 20K purchasing transactions its first year. We have also developed and deployed web-enabled workflow applications for the FSBPT extranet site including secure on-line forums linked with e-mail for each of their various committees, an on-line calendar system, and "@fsbpt.org" email accounts for their members and staff. Presently, we are further analyzing their workflow and legacy databases to design online applications for use by physical therapists, FSBPT's staff and their members. We are also automating required electronic submission of information to a government agency to streamline a labor intensive process.
